Difficulty getting from SB Miami to Ft Laud cruise terminal?

We will stay in the 1300 block of Brickell in South Beach area. Will need to get to the Ft Lauderdale Cruise terminal 1850 Eller Dr. Mapquest says 28 miles in 40 minutes. Price of cab? Other choices? Is that time about right? Also will need a cab from same Brickell to 10800 Collins Haulover Beach area on a different day? So are cabs reasonable? Outrageous? Easy to catch?

What ignoramous travel agent booked you on Brickell for a Ft. Ldl cruise to start with? A cab is going to run $75 - $80 + tip. You need to budget an hour or so. Contrary to the other advice you got, I-95 is the ONLY practical route. There is an entrance to I-95 northbound within a few blocks of your hotel. I-95 has an express lane which your cab can take for an extra buck or less & connects to I-575 which will take you almost into the Port entrance. US-1 may be technically shorter but it's all stop & go commercial streets for 30 miles. Your hotel doorman will call you a cab.

Haulover Beach is a bit more than half way to Ft. Ldle from Brickell. About $40 + tip by cab. Same back. If you have lots of time you can actually get there by a single bus for only $2.00 per person each way. Take the Metro-Mover, right outside your hotel to either the Government Center stop & walk a block to the downtown bus terminal OR Take the Metro-Mover to one of the Bayfront stops, switch over to the Omni Line & take it to the Arsht Performing Arts center stop & go downstairs to the bus stop. At either bus stop pick up the "S" Bus or the "120" "Beach Max" bus. Ride it all the way to the Haulover Beach or Haulover Marina Stop. Reverse to return
